4/11/2011 Sixth Monday in Lent

Saints and Feasts:
Antipas, Bishop of Pergamon
Pharmuthios the Anchorite

OLD TESTAMENT READING 1: Isaiah 48:17-49:4

OLD TESTAMENT READING 2: Genesis 27:1-41

OLD TESTAMENT READING 3: Proverbs 19:16-25

To ponder and meditate on: Be shameful in your own eyes, and you will see the glory of God in yourself. For where humility flourishes, there God’s glory wells forth (St. Isaac the Syrian).

Challenge: Try to catch yourself throughout this day when you do something wrong and be mindful of all the shameful sins that you commit against the will of God. Think about how you can prevent and/or correct any wrong doings, words or thoughts. Ask God for forgiveness.
